Concerning the pool, Add video surveillance to pool and park area. Looking at the past years expenses for vandalism and the shrinking cost of technological equipment, this approach would pay for itself within 1 year. Chemical treatment and services we are not going to get away from. Finding a company to do it cheaper is possible. minimizing monies spent is the best thing we can do for things that we can't do without. Creative thinking to prevent expenses being paid towards things like vandalism is another way to save.

 Re: HOA Corruption
I agree. There would just need to be something put in place or someone to handle these things.

 Re: HOA Corruption
Considering they say we're paying for a welcoming commitee and neighborhood watch according to the budget spreadsheet I printed off, I'd say that's something we should actually have to justify paying for it or something we need to tell them to ditch to save a ton of money.
I didn't get a welcome and nobody was watching when my certain political yard sign was torn to shreds and later when it's replacement was stolen in broad daylight.
I'm in favor of ditching the HOA and having all of us keep our money and spend it on something useful. It's not like the HOA is keeping our neighborhood beautiful and clean. Also...my first year the HOA dues were 300 bux. The next year they raised them to the current 360 bux. Now, with more and more people in the subdivision, they want to increase the price even more? That's ridiculous. More people = more money at 360. If they raise prices, it's only to give some fat cat a raise for doing jack squat.

 Re: HOA Corruption
I'm also still waiting for the soccer and baseball fields and the hike and bike trail that we were told we'd be getting. Any ideas on when those things will actually come to fruition?
