 HOA Corruption
Think this can't happen to us? http://www.lasvegasnow.com/Global/story.asp?S=9223772Ask yourself this, why is it that our HOA (who is majority Lennar) came to the meeting last year to review our communities budget with a itemized list from another community!!!!? Why is it that we have not seen the real report for our neighborhood expenses and income even after requested numerous times? I am willing to bet it will not be furnished this year either. We need to go over the details of the expenses and companies hired for our community and look for any affiliation. It was a rumor previously that the company hired to add the play scape was related to someone on the board and received a direct profit. I callled the company who sold us the playscape and the price was much cheaper than what they payed for the total project. They chalked it up to the land scaping. Utz Construction was in charge of the landscaping and when I started poking around to find out numbers of the expenses, Scott Bud with Lennar called my job to raise hell. Anyone who wants to pick this up is more than welcome. Another thing we need to keep close tabs on is the voting. We need to go over all previous votes as well as all history of our HOA with a fine tooth comb. Is there anyone out there that would like to take on this research?

 Re: HOA Corruption
Mike, I would be happy to take this on but want more info if you have it, such as the Utz contact info as well as how we would get the vote counts. Who tallies the votes and are we privy to that information??? I thought these were secret ballots...

I got a lot of things going on this weekend and next week. If someone else can take it, that would be good... any takers?

 Re: HOA Corruption
This is more or less research for the following year. It would be to much foot work to get this info and figure out how to utilize it by this meeting. We need time to gather the info, involve the HOA as far as a rebuttal, and then figure out how to regain control of our HOA if their are individuals on the board who are not fully protecting the interest of the community.

 Re: HOA Corruption
We can put the recording on the "unofficial" HOA website for those that missed the meeting. You know,... for how much the official website does compared to the community unofficial freebie we provide, I opt they terminate the official website and save some money there as well. I can't believe I offered to revamp their original site and offer a photo gallery with images taken by me of the yard of the month for the waiving of our HOA fees and was turned down. What are the expenses for that site and it does not even offer anything showing how nice the yards of the months are? What a freaken joke. We are getting bamboozled left and right and just think how many other people have volunteered to save the HOA money only to be turned down. It's a racket and someone is profiting, but you can bet it is not the community. Just take a look around the neighborhood........

 Re: HOA Corruption
Well there would need to be someone to handle the communal areas such as the pool, the gutters, and the landscaping for example so those are the main areas that would need to be covered in my opinion.
