Zero Defects - Not Exactly
You've got to love this. Lennar Homes takes great pride in promoting their Zero Defects policy. In fact, they use this phrase as a Service Mark. But just take a moment to read their official policy on Zero Defects. Below in green you will find the exact copy from their very own Official website.
What you find is that, Zero Defects does not mean that Lennar homes are free of defects. So I guess Zero is not the right word to use. In fact, Zero Defects means that . . . in Lennar's sole opinion. Lennar Homes further states that defects depend upon the "materials and labor forces," so I guess when they use inferior materials and incompetent labor, they are off the hook. At least that's what they'd like to think. But read their Zero Defects for yourself . . . you'll be amazed!
Zero Defects - "Zero DefectsSM" does not mean that our homes or services will be without imperfection. It describes our goal of having your home delivered to you without any outstanding items to be completed, and as few imperfections, in our sole opinion, as are possible considering the materials and labor forces on which we depend. We urge prospective purchasers to look at our model homes and inquire of our previous purchasers to determine if our measurement of Zero DefectsSM is satisfactory.
And of course you must love this statement from Lennar's Official Website:
Warranties and Conditions - Everything on this web site is provided to you "AS IS." THE LENNAR FAMILY OF BUILDERS EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES OR CONDITIONS, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, AS TO ANY MATTER WHATSOEVER RELATING TO OR REFERENCED BY THE LENNAR FAMILY OF BUILDERS WEBISTES, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OR CONDITIONS OF MERCHANTIBILITY OR SATISCATORY QUALITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
So what they are saying is they are "expressly disclaiming" all warranties as to any matter whatsoever if they put it on any of their webistes. Then why put it on in the first place? Well, its a great way of saying one thing but meaning another. In fact, just try to find the page that these statements appear on. They're just about invisible to anyone visiting the Lennar Official Website. Go ahead, try it yourself. If you can't find the statements we referenced here, try this link . . . http://www.lennar.com/legal.aspx#zero Very sneaky!
