Here are just a few stories and or photos, from those that have been through this drywall repair process or other repairs. These homes are just a few that have been documented as being repaired or having problems. The total home count reported to Channel 8 news on 9/25/2007 was 100 homes for drywall repair. I wonder how many more were not counted for other issues like driveway or re-grading issues.

To whom it my concern...

We bought our 1st home back in April of 2006. 1st time buyers and excited that we would own a house and living the American dream. Little did we know that it would be short lived... Right before our 1 year walk-thru we started to notice "nail pops" in our master bath and closet. The more we checked the rest of the house we found more and more. Lennar came in and did the 1st of many to come repairs to our "new" home. They (Lennar) came in and cut out the sheet rock from the ceiling and walls...only going down 12 or so inches. Doing the same on the ceiling going in 12 or so inches. To add some "clips" that had not been installed on the house when Lennar had originally built it. After moving back in...a week or so we noticed that the "nail pops" had come to haunt us again. Not to mention all the wall plates did not sit flush or straight from all of the texture and paint. Screws missing from the plates...screws missing...screws that were not meant to be used on wallplates but just put into the holes. They couldn't get the screws to grab from all the unflushed wall mounts. Along with numerous small repairs that did not happen do to the bigger repairs being done. The closet in the office still had a hole in the wall that didn't get repaired. The list could go on.

That brings us to the second move out of our "new" Lennar home. But this time they removed all the sheetrock from the ceiling...again not even a week after we moved back in the home. We started to noticed the ceiling looked like it starting to warp. If you would hold a flashlight to it you could see the dark spot from the sheetrock not being even/flat if you will. The skin around the bottom of the cabinets had been ripped off due to taping of the plastic tarp, kitchen and bathrooms cabinets were damaged during this process and still are not fixed. Or bathroom mirror broken in the corner.

Here are some defects from the 1st and 2nd move that had to be fixed or never fixed.

1. missing toilet-paper holder...from the 1st move out 2. both bathrooms needed to have the cabinet repainted from all the sandpaper 3. front door painted then someone put a hand print 4. wallplates not flush or just missing 5. mirrors not caulked...(I guess they figure they would be back to remove for a second and or third repair) 6. missing blind wand 7. repaint hallway arches (twice) 8. pantry door needed to be painted ( had chips and scratches) I wanted to save the best for last... 9. over the sink in the kitchen the fixture was removed and the junction box was sheetrocked over...leaving the "live" wires there...

DID YOU HEAR WHAT I SAID THEY SHEETROCKED OVER A JUNCTION BOX WHERE A LIGHT FIXTURE WAS TO BE PUT BACK...and then just left the fixture sitting on the kitchen counter. I don't get it...

Well that's our story so far in a nutshell on what has happen to our family after we bought a "new" Lennar home.

We are upset at the fact our family has had to move out twice due to the neglect of Lennar and their crews. Our home is still not in the shape it needs to be in. We purchased this home feeling confident about our builder, only to be let down in a way unimaginable. We cannot continue to move out of our home so they can come in and fix their screw ups. Twice within 5 months is two too many already. We have been more than patient and understanding with the Lennar's people but will not continue to be anymore.
