Here are just a few stories and or photos, from those that have been through this drywall repair process or other repairs. These homes are just a few that have been documented as being repaired or having problems. The total home count reported to Channel 8 news on 9/25/2007 was 100 homes for drywall repair. I wonder how many more were not counted for other issues like driveway or re-grading issues.

My Lennar @ 229 Brown

I live at 229 Brown Street and of course am having the same problems that I am seeing in the stories here on the web site. I few months after we moved in in 05/2006 we started out by having several roof leaks. Then the nail pop thing started happening. I allowed Lennar to do the nail pop repairs. After finding out about the nail pop problem I wanted to make sure there was nothing else wrong with the house so I hired a third party inspector. (inspection report attached) He came in and found all kinds of other stuff wrong with the house, such as cracking in the masonry, the siding wasn't secured properly, the soffit vents in the attic were never installed properly (and still haven't been). I advised Lennar about what the inspector had found. At first Lennar said they weren't going to fix the issues on the inspection. I sent emails to the media, all the Lennar higher ups, pretty much everybody but George Bush. I was contacted by Lennar and they agreed to make the repairs on the report which also included floating the whole ceiling because It was really wavy and I could tell exactly where the repairs had been made. I was told that we could float the house in sections so we could live in the rooms of the house that weren't being repaired, and didn't have to move all our stuff back out. When the contractors showed up to do the repairs plans changed. I was told that everything needed to be out of the house, which included me and my 5 year old son. So in about 3 hours I packed up my house and we moved out to the garage. I didn't know this at the time but I was about to spend the next week living in my driveway. Me and my son literally spent a week in June - one of the hottest months living in my driveway during the day and sleeping on a mattress on the floor in the house at night.

Thankfully I was off work for this week or I wouldn't have made it. After this was done I hoped things were in good shape, they weren't. They forgot to paint our hall and master bedroom closet. I offered to do it myself just so I didn't have to deal with the contractors anymore. I just asked that they supply me with the paint. They game me some paint alright. I got a whole pint to paint my master closet and my hallway. That pint covered a wall. I told Lennar that I needed more they said I would get more.... I'm still waiting. Just like I'm still waiting for Lennars inspectors report that I was promised, and the reimbursement for the mover breaking my dresser, and the reimbursement for an irreplaceable item of my sons that came up missing during the repairs. When they re painted my rooms after the floating the colors didn't match. My Lennar construction rep stated that the mismatched colors, "Looked cool." (This was about how his attitude was the whole time I dealt with him.) When they repaired my siding they "re fastened" the siding so well that it caused nail pops on the drywall on my walls. His response was "well, that repair was on the inspection, that's what you wanted us to fix." Well he was half right. I wanted them to fix what was wrong, not fix what was wrong and cause another problems, which is all they have been able to do at this point. I feel I have gone above and beyond being patient with them allowing them to come in off and on for the last year "trying" to fix things. I'm at the point now where I would rather just let this place fall apart. I am tired.
