BVHP PAC and CAC to Shipyard try to PROP Lennar but Community says No.

The Bayview Hunters Point Project Area Committee (BVHP PAC) and the Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) to the Hunters Point Naval Shipyard had a joint meeting to prop Lennar and the on going development at Candlestick Point and Hunters Point Naval Shipyard. The meeting was held September 18, 2008 at 6 pm at the Southeast Commission Facility - 1800 Oakdale in San Francisco.

The joint BVHP PAC and the CAC meeting was held to prop Lennar and give them some support to carry out their on going projects that Lennar is having difficulty to proceed with.

Stop Lennar Action Movement (SLAM) moved the Town Hall meeting to the venue and gave Lennar a shock that it did not expect. The rogue BVHP PAC and the CAC - did not expect such a good turn out from SLAM. Kudos to the speakers that spoke well and taught the crooks a lesson or two.

Lennar has practically defaulted on the Disposition and Development Agreement linked to Parcel A on Hunters Point Naval Shipyard.

Parcel B, C, D, E, and F which is the Bay still come under the jurisdiction of the United States Navy that is obligated to clean up the whole Shipyard - to Residential Standards - according to Proposition P which passed by over Eighty Seven percent by San Franciscans in the year 2000.

Right now Lennar is pretending it owns the whole Shipyard and is trying to borrow money to start building homes. It has graded the property and cannot complete the initial infrastructure - because it has no money.

Lennar has twice amended the initial Disposition and Development Agreement (DDA). First to remove any rental units that were part of the initial DDA.

Now, recently to make some fiscal changes and to incorporate two new entities as partners in the corrupt deal. It has agreed to hand-over fifty percent of its equity on the Shipyard and Candlestick Point - to these newly acquired entities.

The paradox is that only Parcel A is now under Lennar after first coming under the jurisdiction of the City and County of San Francisco who in turn handed it over - to SF Redevelopment Agency.

Candlestick Point has several jurisdictions and owners the State of California, several small private owners, the SF City and County of San Francisco. There are long leases tied with SF Recreation and Park and the SF 49ers - the football team.

However, the way Lennar is projecting itself - is as the owner of all these properties. A typical way any Rogue projects itself - or a thug for that matter.

The current financial crisis is hitting the Nation where Financial Institution such as AIG, Lehman Brother, others that failed to abide with certain standards and were not regulated - are hitting the Housing Market and of course Lennar.

The Housing Market in San Francisco is strong as far as the value of homes that are owned. New units are found in the thousands on the market - no one is occupying them because there is no money.

In neighboring towns and counties thousands of homes are vacant and boarded up - places like Tracy, Stockton - Vallejo, Fremont and so on.

Lennar thinks it can fool the Public into building homes on toxic land such as the Hunters Point Shipyard on Parcel A, B, and D that are radiological in nature. Consists of heavy concentration of heavy metals and a host of other toxic material from the World War II - War effort.

Lennar is fighting for its life. It will drown in the cesspool of its own making. It has a bad track record and cannot be TRUSTED. It has lost all respect.

It won Proposition G but now finds it cannot deliver. The parties it made a pact with are now finding out that Lennar is a LIAR - it talks the talk but cannot walk the walk.

It has just amended the DDA again. It has established a new Limited Liability Corporation (LLC) and what is more it has been hit badly by the present Financial Crises. No one will lend Lennar any money.

When the Marriot Hotel pulled out at San Diego - over 1900 hotel rooms - that sent shock waves throughout the Lennar Corporation - it lies and is very corrupt.

The Insurance Companies will NOT loan money to any entity that builds home on toxic land - more land that is polluted with Depleted Uranium and other such radiological materials such as cesium. Heavy metals such as mercy and lead.

The Bayview Hunters Point community is strong at at a meeting on September 18, 2008 at the Southeast Commission Facility - the community spoke loud and clear - and spoke against the dubious actions of Lennar.

The community told Lennar that it does not want Lennar in the community.

Kofi Bonner the President of Lennar Urban was there and had little to say - he knows he cannot fight the community - and this time he cannot bluff the community at large.

Lennar cannot fool all the people all the time.

We must stand united and learn to share our experiences - build bridges to rid this world of a corrupt company like Lennar Corporation. Our children and Elders deserve the best.
