My losses attributed to Lennar

November 4, 2008 by Donna Garber

It was Sept. 20 2004 when my son in law was electrocuted installing a new dryer in a Lennar built home in Cleremont Fl. leaving behind a disabled wife and 2 small children. Coincidentally it was also his youngest daughters birthday.

Lennar nor any of their subcontractors have taken any responsibility or even offered an apology to date. They have stalled and tried every trick in the book which is always associated with these situations. Not to mention that it is implied that it was his own fault. His ex ray vision should have seen that the house was improperly wired (electric wires were not bundled so dry wall screws pierced them and the entire house was energized) so that even though the power was turned off to the laundry room the entire house was energized and a death trap. But this was his fault?!?!

I wish anybody who has had a problem with Lennar GOOD LUCK and hope that they will find some sort of peace or resolution for their problems. But do not give up and we will not give up until Lennar and it's subcontractors are held accountable for their actions and that they no longer can be protected by their high paid attorneys.

Also until arbitration clauses are revised or removed entirely so that we have some sort of recourse along with a lot of other changes. Codes need to be put into place and enforced for the building industry. In general, it is time to make the American Dream less of a nightmare than it is now for so many good hard working people. And to all the sinics, I can only say that I am happy for you that it was not your spouse or child who was killed while doing their job and trying to make a life for their family. Try putting yourself in the shoes of others and see how well you can walk in them.
